Our first reading is from the book of Deuteronomy, Moses says to the people, “For this command that I enjoin on you today is not too mysterious and remote for you. No, it is something very near to you, already in your mouths and in your hearts; you have only to carry it out.” In the Catholic tradition we call this “the natural law.” It means that there is within us a kind of deep moral intuition by which we know what is truly the right and just thing to do there are intuitions of value that give us a sense of meaning, purpose, and direction in life. Especially when it involves the dignity of the human person, we must always do the right thing according to God’s law. During times like these, please reflect on the following guidelines from our leaders. Pray about doing what is right and what is just.

Pray, read, think act.
Here’s the current issue of our National Black Catholic Congress.
Home - National Black Catholic Congress Website included in this issue is an update on Seven Future Black Saints Discover the lives of Venerable Fr. Augustus Tolton and six other holy men and women who are on the journey towards Canonization. Learn more about the process and check out the Saintly Six holy card packet featuring their images. Speaking of Saints, one of the seven people to be Canonized this year by Pope Leo 14th will be How A Satanist Priest Became A Catholic Saint. His name Bartolo Longo was an Italian lawyer and former Satanic priest who returned to the Catholic faith and now scheduled to become a saint. There’s hope for us all. I am reminded of an expression I recently heard: "Be a saint, what else is there?" But most of all please pray.
